Love Shopping Direct is experiencing unprecedented growth across it’s HVAC and Lighting channels. This has led to an amazing opportunity to further increase the size and scope of the Ecommerce department as we continue to establish the business as the leading provider of modern home comforts. 

With the ongoing support of the UK’s largest buying groups and increased recognition within the sector, Love Shopping Direct is on a rocket ship trajectory. This includes relocating to a brand-new purpose-built Head Office and Distribution Centre in Walsall, West Midlands in 2022. 

To join us on this exciting journey, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer to strengthen the in-house development team. The successful candidate will have a good background in back-end and front-end development with a solid understanding of software engineering principles. Excellent JavaScript skills are essential, with the ability to easily consume APIs. 

You will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining a customised Shopify Plus platform, which powers a number of B2C sites. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a unique enterprise level Shopify implementation, along with the autonomy to develop for new areas including: Mobile Apps, B2B & International B2C sites and CRM and CRO development. 

You will be joining a fast-paced environment with a real opportunity to make a difference, where we encourage collaboration, ownership, and accountability in our teams with regard to the processes and development practices they apply. 

Candidate Requirements 

• Excellent JavaScript skills. 
• +2 Years Shopify coding experience 
• Shopify/Liquid development experience (developing themes) 
• Good knowledge of the main front-end development languages: JavaScript, CSS/SASS/LESS, HTML5 
• SEO First design for front end 
• Translate wireframes into fully working/optimised experiences 
• Excellent cross browser and responsive build experience 
• Strong attitude towards teamwork (cooperation, knowledge sharing, proactivity) 

Additional desirable experience 

• Experience of working with MySql & API integrations 
• Experience with Ruby (Shopify Scripts – Ruby on Rails) 
• Experience developing Shopify Apps – Knowledge of Shop API & GraphQL 
• Able to write readable, reusable code, with a good understanding of software design principles 
• Good working knowledge of GIT
